To the right is the pepeha of Manurewa Marae.
A pepeha is how the Maori people acknowledge where they are from. This is done through naming the ancestral origins of their moana/awa (water), iwi (tribe), maunga (mountain), hapu (subtribe), waka (canoe that their ancestors arrived in).
